Bab Merican on rue Portugal

Located on zankat America, a couple hundred feet from Bab Merican, the Tangier American Legation Institute for Moroccan Studies, TALIM, is a museum, cultural and conference center, and is the only US National Historic Landmark located in a foreign country. TALIM is the research center in Morocco of the American Institute for Maghrib Studies – AIMS, part of CAORC, the Council of American Overseas Research Centers.

If you’re interested in keeping up with what’s going on on site at TALIM, this blog maintained by the Resident Director and guest bloggers, provides informal updates from Tangier.  You may also wish to follow us on social media.

You were kind enough to help me with a street name. Now I find I need to check on a few more.
I apologize but I am trying to wrote a chapter (fiction) that takes place in Tangier but I need to be as accurate as possible. The El Minzah is now on the Rue de Liberte, what was the name of the street in the 1930s, also Dar Baroud, location of the Continental. Also, the Bab Dar Dbagh and the rue du Portugal.
Thanks ever so much. May I make a donation for your help.
